What we are looking for:
You’re organized, proactive, and passionate about creating a positive employee experience. You enjoy balancing HR compliance tasks with employee engagement activities, and you thrive on building connections that improve workplace culture. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused People Operations & Employee Engagement Specialist to join our team. This role ensures HR and employee engagement tasks are carried out accurately and on time, while also driving initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction, retention, and workplace culture.
What you will be doing:
Manage the REL HR system, including employee profiles, job requisitions, performance reviews, and personnel files.
Oversee new hire onboarding and offboarding, including personnel action forms, exit interviews, and COBRA/separation notices.
Support employees with leave applications, approvals, and tracking; maintain accurate leave records and reporting.
Coordinate annual open enrollment and assist employees with benefits questions year-round.
Provide employment verifications and manage employee data updates through ADP.
Conduct new hire, training, stay, and exit interviews to improve the employee experience.
Drive engagement initiatives such as contests, recognition programs, philanthropic activities, and employee events.
Participate in the Employee Action Committee (EAC) to plan and deliver appreciation events and celebrations.
Collaborate with leadership to provide feedback, reporting, and recommendations for employee engagement improvements.
Assist with administrative needs, including event coordination and occasional office support tasks.
Job requirements
High School diploma required.
2 years of HR or People Operations experience.
Experience with employee engagement, reporting, or HR systems (ADP, REL HR preferred).
Strong MS Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to analyze and report employee data with accuracy.
Typing speed of 35+ WPM.
Must be a Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Texas or Kansas resident
